CIVIL DESIGN CONSULTANT / INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR

CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN / DRAFTER

A full service Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Land Planning, Landscape Architecture firm in Sonoma County has an immediate opening for a Civil AutoCad Technician/Drafter with experience in residential, mixed use and commercial land development projects.

Applicants must have a comprehensive understanding and prior experience in all aspects of residential and commercial land development, AutoCad drafting/design including grading, drainage and erosion control, water and sanitary sewer systems, and roadways. The applicant must be proficient in the AutoCad LDD software platform and application in the civil design process. We are seeking dependable, highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills who will be responsive to the needs of our clients and be able to communicate with our staff, local jurisdictions, and consultants. The qualified applicant must be interested in growing with us in a fast paced, challenging environment and able to work well with others.

Duties and responsibilities will include certain aspects of design, drafting, and preparation of construction plans including roadways, storm sewer, grading & erosion control, water distribution, sanitary sewer, site plans, final maps, and other supporting documentation. Prior experience in horizontal and vertical design of streets, grading, and utilities is also required. The qualified applicant must be able to coordinate with CAD technicians and staff to ensure timely and accurate document and drawing preparation.

Computer Skills Required:

AutoCad LDD, Civil Design software (2000 or higher). Microsoft Word, Excel (2000 or higher).

3-5 years practical, related experience.

CIVIL ENGINEER / CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGNER

A full service Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Land Planning, Landscape Architecture firm in Sonoma County has an immediate opening for a Civil Engineer/Civil Engineering Designer with experience in residential, mixed use and commercial land development projects.

Position Characteristics:

> Develop and/or Assist in the design and calculations for complex public and private land development    improvement projects.

Responsibilities include:

> Support staff in the management of project schedules and budgets.
> Preparation/processing of tentative and final subdivision plats, of regulatory site plans and development plans for commercial developments.
> Preparation/processing of final engineering plans (grading, streets, sewer/water, etc.) and the preparation and review of attendant hydrologic studies and drainage reports.
> Work with Land Surveying Department in survey scope specifications for civil engineering-related projects.

Skills:

> Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
> Ability to complete all designs in AutoCAD and Land Development Desktop
Professional Experience, Registrations, Licenses:
> Civil Engineer: At minimum, college degree in Civil Engineering up to an earned P.E. registration. Prefer at least two years relevant work experience.
> Civil Engineering Designer: Five years + design experience.
> A plus: Possession of Certificate of Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California or the ability to obtain registration within one year for Civil Engineer position.
> Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License.

PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR

We are seeking a self-motivated Professional Land Surveyor to work both collaboratively and independently in a small office of land surveyors, civil engineers and technicians on a wide variety of surveying projects and ancillary engineering services.

The successful candidate will assist in the overseeing of day to day survey operations and in the development of the survey division.

Qualifications:

> 5+ years of responsible charge experience in directing and performing all aspects of acquiring, processing, analyzing and compiling data to prepare deliverables related to boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, GPS, control, lot line adjustment and FEMA elevation certificate surveys

> Solid survey-related mathematical and research skills

> AutoCAD Land Desktop & MS Office Suite proficiency, AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus

> Diverse working knowledge of conventional and robotic field equipment and data collection and processing software (Leica TS12, Cloudworx, Cyclone; Topcon Hiper V, FC-5000 & Magnet, and Carlson Survey a plus) 

> Varied construction staking experience

> Laser Scanning field and office software experience a plus

> Applicant must have some experience in ALTA/ACSM surveys, lot line adjustments and easement acquisitions, submittal of documents, other office surveying tasks and occasional field related tasks.

Candidate must be familiar with federal, state and local laws and requirements pertaining to surveying.

Must be certified as a State of California Land Surveyor in Training and possess a valid California driver's license in good standing.
